Este vorba despre conferinţa „Romania 2020: What We Can Do For Romania In The Next Decade” organizată de GRSP Society (Global Romanian Students and Young Professionals Society) în Boston, 4-6 Decembrie, 2009.
2ND GRSP SOCIETY ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Join us for our annual conference “Project Romania 2020: What We Can Do For Romania In The Next Decade”, which will be held in Boston this year. Please apply by October 25 to join the conference.
Project „Romania 2020: What We Can Do For Romania In The Next Decade” 4-6 December, 2009 – Boston, USA
In partnership with Harvard Romanian Association, MIT Romanian Student Association and the Kokkalis Program of the Harvard Kennedy School
The conference will be an opportunity for students and young professionals from North America and Europe to exchange ideas and discuss their vision on where Romania should be headed over the next decade and how GRSP Society and its members can help achieve this vision. GRSP Society’s eight working groups (Democracy and Participation, Education and Research, Culture and Arts, Business and Finance, Public Administration and Public Policy, International Migration, Romania’s Image Abroad and International Cooperation and Development) will present their projects to date and discuss new initiatives. Featured guests will include leaders from academia, business, government and non-profit sectors.
We encourage all those who are interested in this conference to submit a brief application (CV/Resume + 1-page statement) by October 25.
* The conference fee is only $20.
* We will pair up participants with hosts so that you don’t need to book (and pay for) a ho(s)tel room!
* Also: Funding for a portion of your transportation expenses is available
Funds will be allocated based on the number of applications received, merit, and financial need. We will let all successful applicants how much support we can provide after receiving and evaluating all applications. You must apply by the deadline to be considered for receiving funding.
Overall, this is a great opportunity to visit Boston (and Harvard+MIT), meet new people, and discuss your role in Romania’s future, all without breaking the bank!

Brief History
The idea emerged in 2006 from the desire to enable connections among people who work on similar issues/fields but live in different locations. The founding conference was organized by RHIYS in Budapest, Hungary in November 2008. This conference gathered more than 50 students and young professionals coming from over 12 countries and enabled discussions on the content and activity of GRSPSociety. The association is currently being registered in Bucharest, Romania. Throughout 2009 we have been working on establishing and activating Working Groups on various issue-ares/fields. The 2nd Annual Conference will take place in Boston, USA (Harvard & MIT) in December 2009. We hope that motivated people can contribute to Romania’s development from wherever they are by being involved in GRSPSociety.
