The mission of Teach for Romania is to encourage and prepare capable and ambitious young people to become inspiring teachers and leaders in Romania’s education system. Teach for Romania adapts a proven international model first developed in 1990 by Teach for America in the United States. The model attracts and selects talented, ambitious young people from diverse fields who have the attitudes and characteristics that will allow them to become inspiring, transformational teachers with an innovative approach to teaching. We look for people who would not normally have considered teaching. The approach is working successfully in 32 countries on five continents, where it is applied by our partner organizations in the Teach for All network (for more information: www.teachforall.org)
The Recruiter will work closely with the Recruitment and Selection Director and a team of campus ambassadors to attract, recruit and engage the best talents for the Teach for Romania program. This is a 4 month project based position, from February to May 2014.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Teach for Romania’s Recruitment and Selection strategy;
Develop and implement the sourcing strategy and channels to identify relevant talent pools;
Build and maintain relationships with target audiences (student leaders, administrators, faculty members, career service representatives, advisors) in order to achieve an effective recruitment campaign;
Identify prospective applicants and faculty/staff contacts by conducting internet research and using resources on campus to identify top prospects for the corps;
Identify, cultivate and influence top students to apply to and join the organization;
Cooperate with campus ambassadors to reach the objectives of the Recruitment and Selection Campaign;
Implement headhunting campaigns using a wide range of communication channels;
Assist in organizing recruitment events, information sessions, career fairs participation and the visits of recruitment managers or other campus visitors;
Involvement in the selection process design (candidates profile, application and selection methods);
Conduct interviews and implement the selection methodology;
External communication with target audiences to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the admission process.
Experience and Knowledge:
Voluntary work experience/ record of extracurricular involvement
Recruitment and Selection processes overview
Familiarity with research methods and statistical approaches
Comfort in working with databases and analyzing data
Ability and desire to work urgently in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, deadline-driven and results-oriented culture
Proven excellent communication and networking skills
Strong organizing skills, capacity to work efficiently with deadlines
Critical and creative thinking
