„After the negative performance expected in 2009, a reprise of the Romanian economy and of the travel and tourism industry in the country is forecast for the second half of 2010. The most important drivers of growth for the industry from 2010 to 2014 will be government investment in infrastructure and the consolidation of the market, which will be dominated by fewer and more efficient players at the end of the forecast period.”

„Romania will become the fifth most visited tourism destination in Eastern Europe, by 2014, according to a market study by Euromonitor International. The number of foreign tourists to Romania will rise by 18 per cent by 2014, up to 9.6 millions visitors, according to Euromonitor estimates, announced today (Thurs). This would place Romanian fifth in the region, after Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Croatia.
The study also showed that tourists spent in Romania an average of 125 Euros/person, last year, compared to the average 334 Euros in all Eastern Europe.”
