CHARITY COMMITTEE NEWS
The International Women’s Association of Bucharest is pleased to announce that it is now taking applications for 2014 charitable grants. Any registered charity in Bucharest or the immediate vicinity of Bucharest may apply for a grant of up to 20,000 RON.
According to IWA’s charity committee guidelines preference shall be given to charities that assist children, women, the elderly and those charities that provide medical services to the poor, but all worthwhile requests shall be considered provided the request is not for administrative costs, overhead or building costs.
IWA is an organization founded and operated by international women in Bucharest for the purpose of cultural exchange and friendship. It also has a strong charitable outreach and each year it holds a Christmas Bazaar at Romexpo sponsored by embassies throughout Bucharest. Each embassy prepares an exhibit at the bazaar and sells their countries’ products and food. 100% of the proceeds are donated to the charity committee. About 35 countries participated in 2013 event and approximately four thousand people attended as volunteers or visitors.
A copy of the grant application may be found on the IWA website at www.iwabucharest.ro or received from the charity coordinator, Kathrin Hess Gedlicka , whose e-mail address is email@example.com
All applications are assessed on a neutral based point ranking system and if a charity desires information about the ranking, it may contact IWA. This system insures that all charities are treated fairly and the grant proceeds are distributed in a manner that best meets the needs of the community.
Any charity which has questions about what may or may not be funded or needs assistance in completing the application should contact IWA for help. In addition, any international woman who is interested in joining IWA may contact IWA through its website for more information.
