On December 5, the Romanian United Foundation (RUF) will gather friends, partners, and community leaders at the Union League Club of Chicago for the 2025 Gala – an evening dedicated to celebrating the Romanian spirit and the people who keep it alive across the world.
Now in our seventh year of community impact, RUF is launching GlobalRomania – a collaborative effort to unite outstanding Romanians shaping culture and innovation across the globe, and to elevate Romania’s identity in a way that reflects the strength of our community.
Set within the vibrant exhibition of artist Flavius Lucăcel, the Gala blends art, conversation, live performances, and meaningful recognition. At the center of the black-tie gathering hosted by Cosmin Seleși is the long-awaited official launch of GlobalRomania. Featured guests include Alin Ușeriu and Ana Szekely of Tășuleasa Social, investigative journalist and cultural advocate Alex Dima, and live performances by Vox Maris Band and Valeria Vangheli. Together, they bring stories and energy that reflect the diversity and strength of the Romanian diaspora.

RO Fest Trends Romanian Film Festival, hosted at AMC River East 21, presents powerful films and creative voices from Romania. Special guests include director Bogdan Mureșan, showcasing “Anul Nou care nu a fost”.

An exclusive networking brunch hosted at ROCO – The Romanian Community Center offers space for connection among traveling guests, sponsors, artists, innovators, and leaders who care deeply about Romania’s future.
Across these two days, the Gala offers a unique opportunity to meet inspiring individuals, engage in thoughtful conversations, and discover ways to contribute to a growing global Romanian community.
